ABOUT CAMX

  1. What can we expect at CAMX?

    Now in its 5th year, CAMX has established itself as North America’s event that connects and advances the world’s composites and advanced materials communities – the go-to marketplace for products, solutions, networking and advanced industry thinking. It is produced by ACMA and SAMPE, two leading industry non-profit organizations. CAMX has increased in attendance by about 10% each year from its inaugural year, and now in 2018, CAMX is co-locating with IFAI Expo. The combined event is expected to attracted 15,000 attendees and 900 exhibitors, from over 50 different countries. It offers participants the opportunity to:

    CAMX provides an expert technical conference program, a marketplace for business opportunities, product displays and demonstrations, and access to professionals within the composites, advanced materials, and end use markets.

  2. When and where is CAMX taking place?

    CAMX 2018 takes place October 15-18, 2018 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, TX, which is conveniently located near many restaurants, attractions, and hotels. Visitors to Dallas enjoy a warm climate and excellent dining, close access to tourist attractions, and much more. Texas also serves composites industry, with a number of composites and advanced manufacturing companies and many manufacturing facilities located nearby . . . all of which make this an ideal location for CAMX 2018. The Conference Program is scheduled for October 15-18, 2018 and the Exhibit Hall will be open October 16-18, 2018. All education, networking, and exhibit events are taking place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Shuttle service will be provided to and from CAMX hotels that are not within easy walking distance.

  3. Have ACMA and SAMPE merged into one organization?

    No. ACMA and SAMPE maintain their distinction as separate organizations with different goals and objectives. However, the two organizations jointly produce CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo.

  4. Will ACMA and SAMPE still host their current shows and conferences?

    CAMX has replaced both organizations’ primary annual events. Each organization will continue to hold other conferences, workshops and exhibitions as determined by their respective Boards of Directors and members.

  5. Who owns CAMX?

    CAMX is owned and produced equally by ACMA and SAMPE, with Gardner Business Media as the official media partner. These three organizations are the primary composites and advanced materials organizations in the U.S., and by attending CAMX you are supporting the composites and advanced materials industry.

  6. How do I get a refund for CAMX 2017 if I am unable to attend on the new dates?

    Please note that if you registered for CAMX for the September dates, you do not need to re-register. Confirm your attendance in December by responding to the email sent to you on October 17th or contact our registrar, Anessa Sanchez, at anessa@sampe.org. If you did not respond to that email, requests must be submitted in writing by December 31, 2017.

  7. CONFERENCE

  8. What is the Conference Program?

    The CAMX Conference Program is made up of two types of sessions—Technical Papers and Education Sessions.

    • Technical Papers are 25 minute presentations and include formal written research papers reviewed by industry peers.
    • Education Sessions are typically 45 minutes long (some may be longer) and are NOT accompanied by formal research papers, instead they focus more on case studies, best practices, issue reviews, etc. and are presented as lectures, panels, and/or discussions.

    Premium and Full Conference registrants will be able to attend an unlimited number of educational sessions with a simple scan of their badge. Show Sampler registrants will receive four (4) Conference Program tickets to attend any four (4) Conference Program Sessions of their choice.

  10. What are Conference Program tickets?

    Unlike a one-day registration traditionally offered at SAMPE Conferences,  Show Sampler registrations provide equivalent access to one day of programming, but an attendee has the option to spread their choices over multiple days.

        • Additional Conference Program tickets may be purchased by Show Samper registrants.
        • Attendees with full registrations may attend unlimited Conference Programs and tickets are not required
        • For those with Show Sampler or Exhibit Hall ONLY registration, tickets are also sold for the Wednesday Market Segment Networking Reception and CAMX Closing Luncheon.
  11. Are there discounts for speakers, co-chairs, panelists, etc.? I only see member and non-member and early or regular registration prices.

    There are discounts for speakers, session chairs, and moderators. These individuals will receive a special link to the appropriate registration form from the show management contact they are working with.

  12. NETWORKING EVENTS

  13. How do I get a ticket for the SAMPE Awards Ceremony?

    Individuals that use their SAMPE Membership number to register for CAMX AND who choose a Premium or Full Conference registration will automatically receive a ticket to the SAMPE Awards Ceremony. This is a SAMPE society reception that features a presentation of society awards (Fellows presentation, Lubin, etc.) and will include drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Additional tickets are free and may be obtained by selecting the ticket during online registration or onsite in the Registration Area.

  14. What is the CAMX Closing Luncheon? Is there an ACMA or SAMPE Luncheon?

    CAMX is now offering one closing lunch for all premium and full conference registrants.  This luncheon will provide a speaker and plenty of networking to close out your CAMX experience!

  16. What ACMA association meetings are taking place at CAMX?

    Throughtout CAMX, ACMA holds various association business meetings, some of which are by invitation only.
