CAMX Registration Brochure Now Available Online

CAMX provides a detailed look at its updated 2017 Conference Program, including Featured Sessions, Innovation Park and the Poster Session.

October 30, 2017 (Orlando, Fla.) – The exhibit hall floor plan and registration brochure are now available for the rescheduled CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo, taking place December 11-14, 2017, in Orlando, Fla. CAMX, co-produced by The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and The Society for Advancement for Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), is the largest, most comprehensive composites and advanced materials event for products, solutions, networking, and advanced industry thinking in North America.

One of the highlights of this year’s Exhibit Hall will be the all-new Innovation Park. The park is comprised of four specialized “zones” tailored to the learning, networking, and inspirational needs of CAMX attendees:

  • The Connection Zone: Network and discuss hot industry topics with composites professionals with similar interests
  • Ask the Experts: Get trustworthy, constructive answers to important questions from CAMX’s pool of expert industry consultants
  • New Exhibitor Zone: Discover companies and start-ups new to CAMX
  • Presentation Theater: Hear presentations from exhibitors on their products and services, technical presentations, and announcements on the winners of the Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE).

“Collaboration and sharing are essential to create growth and innovation in our industry. Innovation Park will be the premier area of the show to form new connections and generate fresh ideas,” says Tom Dobbins, ACMA President. “This is a dedicated space for attendees to actively engage with each other in new ways and host discussions that may lead to new opportunities or solutions to shared challenges, both during CAMX and once everyone returns home.”

Other features of the Exhibit Hall include manufacturing demonstrations, and innovation displays with products and manufacturing processes. The floor plan and list of exhibitors representing products and services for all aspects of the composites and advanced materials industry is available online.

Attendees will get new information from CAMX Feature Sessions. The topics of this year’s Featured Sessions include additive manufacturing standards, additive manufacturing in the sustainment environment, recycling, composites in IoT, modeling and simulation, and bonding and joining of hybrid joints.

“One of the many reasons we rescheduled CAMX after Hurricane Irma caused us to cancel our September dates is to fulfill a critical need for education,” says Gregg Balko, SAMPE CEO. “This conference program covers subjects ranging from high volume to high performance materials. It is here in Orlando where the industry will engage with thought leaders and problem solvers.”

The Conference Program will also feature the innovations of young minds in the composites industry at the Poster Session. Authors will be present for discussions with attendees who will be circulating among the poster boards during the Author Meet-and-Greet on Wednesday, December 13 from 2–4 PM. On December 14 at noon, CAMX will present the Outstanding Paper Awards to six researchers from the composites industry, academia and the government who put together well-written, interesting and groundbreaking technical papers. This year’s winners are:

  • Antonio Paesano, Boeing
  • Hardik Dalal, The Boeing Company
  • Jonathan Garhart, Sikorsky – Lockheed Martin
  • Amit Naskar, Oak Ridge National Laboratory
  • Scott Huelskamp, University of Dayton Research Institute
  • Nobuo Takeda, The University of Tokyo
