CAMX  COMMITS TO IN-PERSON EVENT 

Preview what to expect at the composites industry’s largest educational program, fastest growing expo, and largest composites industry exposition in North America 

September 1, 2021 (Dallas, TX) – CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo will reconnect leading experts with attendees that are eager to learn through a comprehensive, diverse conference program. CAMX is the premier event for new products, composites industry innovation, networking, advanced thinking, and solutions.  This year’s event will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, TX from October 19 – 21, 2021.

The  full conference schedule  is now available. With nearly 150 educational sessions, including 7 featured sessions, the 2021 conference program continues to meet the educational demands of an industry with diverse needs. Attendees can expect to immerse themselves in learning related to thermoplastic composites, graphene, the booming marine industry, sustainability goals, and high-performance needs in a variety of education-based settings, including featured sessions, education sessions, technical papers, live demonstrations, campfire sessions, and theater presentations.

CAMX will kick off with an exciting General Session, open to all in-person and virtual attendees and exhibitors, featuring Lockheed Martin’s, Gregory M. Ulmer, Executive Vice President of Aeronautics Business. During his presentation, Mission Ready: Composites Innovations in Defense, he will share his insights on the influence of composite materials in aerospace, defense, and other market segments, and how companies can maximize advances in different manufacturing processes.

Throughout the conference, CAMX attendees will discover new advancements from the industry through  Featured Sessions  that focus on composites innovation, market growth, and hot topics associated with advanced materials technologies.  “CAMX is recognized as offering the largest and most comprehensive conference program for the composites industry. With presentations from leading industry experts and innovators, attendees at all levels and roles –– from composites veteran to students – will gain new insights and takeaways to improve their products and processes, expand their business, and plan for the future,” said Cindy L. Jeff Sloan, Editor-in-Chief of Composites World, one of CAMX’s valued media partners, will lead a panel discussing the trends shaping our industry. Sloan will be joined by Dale Brosius, IACMI; Sanjay Mazumdar, Lucintel; and Anandu Rau, Windstream; to explore the technologies, applications, markets, materials, processes, and innovations that are simultaneously challenging and empowering the industry.

Dr. Wendy W. Lin, a Consulting Engineer at GE Renewable Energy, will provide an interview with Raj Manchanda, SAMPE, where she will discuss circular economy, the application of composites in two of GE’s businesses: small fan blades and large wind blades, supply chain issues, women in technology, and what GE needs from its materials suppliers over the next 5+ years to allow composites to continue its growth in the segment.

CAMX 2021 will conclude with Good Day, CAMX, exploring the topic, Passing the Torch isn’t What it Used to Be: Managing Through Multi-Generational Challenges. Moderated by Composites One’s Marcy Offner, this interactive discussion will feature Best Bath and its current co-CEO, Megan Multanen, along with her father, Best Bath Founder and Chairman of the Board, Gary Multanen. They will share insights as a composites manufacturer on how to transition from the old guard to the new with respect for the past and excitement for the possibilities in the future.  They will discuss what they have learned from one another, where they differ, what the outlook for the future is, and what makes their relationship work.

In addition to a robust education program, CAMX’s extensive Exhibit Hall, featuring more than 380 exhibitors from all market segments, is an exciting place to learn about new product developments while networking with fellow industry professionals. Live demonstrations will be held throughout the Exhibit Hall, and new products will be announced along with technical presentations in the Presentation Theater.

Registration is open for the long-awaited return of CAMX as an in-person expo and conference with expert presentations, live floor demonstrations, and networking events in a safe, but engaging environment like no other industry event. CAMX will adhere to current health and safety protocols, but for those who can’t attend in-person, CAMX+, a new, digital extension will allow attendees to participate remotely. With CAMX+, attendees will be able to access the live General session and Good Day, CAMX, plus a plethora of world-class, on-demand composites-focused educational sessions.
