August 25, 2016 (Anaheim, Calif.) – As part of a brand new General Session format known as CAMX Live!, Luminati Aerospace CEO Daniel Preston, renowned architect Greg Lynn and Local Motors General Manager Gregory Haye will speak at the third annual CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo, on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

By offering an esteemed panel of industry leaders in multiple markets, CAMX will showcase the evolving nature of the composites industry. .

“We are very excited to debut CAMX Live! to this year’s attendees,” said ACMA President Tom Dobbins. “It is essential that CAMX’s programming reflect the needs of our attendees, many of whom are looking to pursue opportunities in new markets.”

“Aerospace, architecture, and 3D printing are three major areas of interest for the industry right now,” added SAMPE CEO Gregg Balko. “CAMX Live! will be a great opportunity for attendees to learn from well-respected industry leaders who have used composites to accomplish incredible things.”

Preston is a professional inventor who holds more than 120 patents, including patents pending. His work includes extensive developments in guidance and sensing technologies, materials science, composite fabric technology, and ram-air inflated wings. In 2005, The Smithsonian Institute selected Preston’s composite parafoil and two wingsuits for display opposite the Wright Brothers’ flyer as part of the Smithsonian’s National Design Museum exhibition “Extreme Textiles: Designing for High Performance.” He is also accredited with being the first scientist to successfully deploy a fleet of UAV operating under swarming and flocking algorithms.

In 2005, Forbes Magazine named Lynn one of the ten most influential living architects. Lynn has been a leader in the acceptance and use of advanced materials and technologies for design and fabrication in architecture. Much of his work can be seen in prominent design and architecture museums, including the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Chicago Museum of Modern Art.

Haye is the general manager of Local Motors’ Materials and Process Development Center of Excellence. During Haye’s tenure at Local Motors, the company has emerged as a leader in 3D printing composites for automotive applications. Last year, Local Motors unveiled its LM3D Swim, the world’s first 3-D-printed car series, which has impressed policymakers on Capitol Hill.
