Open to all attendees and exhibitors, the inaugural CAMX 2014 event will kick off with a General Session and Keynote Address that truly embodies the "Combined Strength. Unsurpassed Innovation." of CAMX. Tuesday morning's General Session will inspire anyone involved with composites or advanced materials to "dream it and build it." The latest innovations in the industry will be highlighted, and Keynote speaker Kevin Mickey, president of Scaled Composites, will share his experience of leading teams with the aim to instill an entrepreneurial drive and culture. He'll touch on such topics as the future of the composites and advanced materials industry as well as how the industry can approach traditional material users on the conversion to composites.
Scaled Composites founder Burt Rutan, who is one of the few to have received awards from both ACMA and SAMPE, won the first $10 million X-Prize for the design of SpaceShipOne. Scaled continues as one of the most innovative companies in our industry, designing automotive, aerospace and marine innovations.

Two Awards programs featuring the latest industry innovations will be displayed in the CAMX Exhibit Hall. The Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE), hosted by ACMA, recognize excellence in technology, design, manufacturing and product development. The new CAMX Awards will recognize visionary concepts and products that show strength through collaboration, while bridging low-cost materials/high-volume applications with high-performance applications/low-volume materials. CAMX is now accepting submissions from students, universities and companies for the 2014 Poster Session. Accepted poster entries will be displayed at CAMX and will compete to be named 2014's trailblazing research of the year. Submission deadline: Aug. 15, 2014.
