Getting Bigger & Better – CAMX 2015 Wraps

Thank you to everyone who participated in CAMX 2015 and helped make it a great success. The number of participants exceeded CAMX 2014 with almost 7500 registrations this year, continuing the trend as North America’s premier Composites and Advanced Materials event. Participants came from 50 countries and every state in the US, and the exhibit floor was larger than 2014, with 549 exhibiting companies and 111,000 square feet of just exhibit booth space. CAMX is committed to continue to bring you a bigger and better CAMX each year!

Without a doubt, CAMX provided the largest conference program anywhere for the industry. With 309 sessions on topics covering every subject in the industry, and 360 expert speakers, conference attendees had over 13 concurrent tracks of topics to choose from.

Recognition and Innovation at CAMX 2015

CAMX attendees experienced cutting-edge innovation and next generation technologies. The product innovation awards and Poster Session awards, as well as the Technical Paper Awards, presented at CAMX recognized researchers and organizations whose work will impact the future of the industry.

The CAMX Combined Strength Award, sponsored by Ashland Inc., went to:

Cincinnati Incorporated, in conjunction with Oak Ridge National Laboratories, for Big Area Additive Manufacturing (BAAM) technology that creates 3-D large-scale products up to 10 times larger than currently producible, and at speeds 200 to 500 times faster than existing additive machines.

The CAMX Unsurpassed Innovation Award, sponsored by Ashland, Inc., went to:

Continental Structural Plastics (CSP) for its TCA Ultra Lite, a Class A Body Panel material that GM recently used to cut weight from the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette. As automakers continue to seek material solutions for increasingly demanding fuel efficiency standards, materials such as TCA Ultra Lite set a high standard.
